Water Quality Reports

Overview

The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) is the federal law that protects public drinking water supplies throughout the nation. Under the SDWA, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and individual states set standards for drinking water quality. Every month, the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) tests hundreds of water samples for compliance with state and federal regulations and to inform treatment operation decisions. We generate annual and monthly reports listing the results of the routinely tested parameters and the associated state and federal requirements. Links to the monthly reports are available below to see a current snapshot of the quality of the water provided by NTMWD.

North Texas Municipal Water District publishes an Annual Water Quality Report (also known as Consumer Confidence Report) to provide an overview of water quality during the previous calendar year. NTMWD is required under the SDWA to produce this annual report each year on the quality of its drinking water.

The Water Quality Report also serves as a reminder of the importance and need to protect drinking water sources and informs consumers:

  • About their drinking water source
  • How the test results compare to state drinking water standards
  • On the results of the analytical testing
  • What analytical tests are conducted to ensure the safety of NTMWD's drinking water

Your direct water utility provider also provides annual water quality reports. Visit the website of your city of residence for more information.
