Solid Waste Facilities
Important Notice
The Parkway Transfer Station is currently under construction to convert the facility into a top-load trash operation to improve the waste handling process. While under construction only member city residents using the twice monthly drop-off program will be able to access the facility. Construction is anticipated to be completed by June 2026.
Due to construction, the Parkway Transfer Station is only accepting municipal solid waste from residents of Allen, Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Richardson in accordance with the Acceptable Waste Policy.
Waste that does not meet these criteria can be disposed of for a fee at the Custer Road Transfer Station, Lookout Drive Transfer Station or the 121 Regional Disposal Facility.
As part of our solid waste service, NTMWD manages and operates three solid waste transfer stations and one landfill that are open to the public.
Residents of Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Plano, and Richardson (with a city-issued utility bill that reflects solid waste services) can drop off certain types of waste - including used motor oil and used oil filters - twice per month at one of our four Citizen Convenience Centers. Before going to one of our locations, be sure to review this quick Reference Guide (PDF) on what can and cannot be accepted.
View the general location map of the four convenience centers and check wait times.
